i.Who we are

Healing, growth and opportunity, rooted in land and horses.

At Saddle & Soil, we believe healing and growth happen through connection: to land, to animals, to community and to self. We create spaces where individuals, youth and families can grow, heal and thrive through equestrian experiences, agriculture, mentorship and life-enriching programs.

Our mission

To cultivate connection, confidence and community through equitable access to horses, land-based education, wellness experiences and hands-on learning, empowering youth and underserved communities to foster growth, healing, leadership and belonging.

Our vision

A future where every person has access to safe, healing and empowering spaces rooted in land, horses, education and community.

ii.Our work

Four roots, one purpose.

Everything we do grows from four simple roots. Together they make room for people to slow down, learn by doing and find where they belong.

Horses

Equine experiences that build trust, patience and quiet confidence, from first introductions to time in the saddle.

Land

Agricultural education with hands in the soil: planting, tending and harvesting together, season by season.

Learning

Mentorship and practical skills, taught side by side, that grow leadership and carry far beyond the ranch.

Wellness

Healing, restorative time outdoors, with space to breathe, reflect and reconnect with yourself and others.

iii.What we cultivate

Horses, hearths, harvests & hands in the soil.

Time with the herd

Horses meet people where they are. Grooming, groundwork and riding teach presence, clear communication and calm leadership, lessons that stay long after the boots come off.

Our equine programs welcome first-timers and seasoned riders alike, with safety and respect for the horse at the center of every session.

  • Introductions to horses and horse care
  • Groundwork and guided riding
  • Mentorship from experienced horsemen and horsewomen

Hands in the soil

In our gardens, youth and families learn where food comes from by growing it: preparing beds, planting, tending and bringing in the harvest.

It is practical, patient work, and it builds the same things the horses do: responsibility, curiosity and the pride of seeing something grow.

  • Seasonal planting and harvest days
  • Soil, seed and stewardship basics
  • Gardens grown together, shared together

Community & wellness

Around the table & the fire

Some of the best growth happens over a shared meal or around a fire at dusk. Farm-to-table gatherings and bonfire nights bring neighbors, volunteers and families together.

These are the moments where strangers become community and community becomes belonging.

  • Farm-to-table meals from the garden
  • Bonfire nights and storytelling
  • Wellness experiences rooted in nature
iv.Programs

Saddle, soil & season.

Three programs, one ranch. Veterans and young people learn with the horses and on the land, from groundwork to harvest.
